Faculty Lecture: Karen Bayne on Learning in Public Faculty Lecture: Karen Bayne on Learning in Public Nursing Professor Karen Bayne delivers a talk “Learning in Public: Trading Perfection for Vulnerability in the Classroom and Beyond.” Creating space for uncertainty and confusion in our lives feels like rowing against the current of our online world. The flowing algorithm and “chat” are ready to supply highly specific and ready-formed answers for us to consume and toss back into the river. Emotions like fear and anxiety can interfere with our desire to participate in conversations in learning and working spaces. In our time together, we will peek at some of the obstacles that prevent us from learning in public, whether in the classroom or the world. We will think about how we got here and share some ideas for overcoming those challenges by exploring them in public!
