Volunteer Opportunity: "Warm the College" Donation Drive

We're collecting winter essentials for students and families in our GCC community! Donations of new or gently-used winter clothing and children's toys and gifts can be dropped off in various locations around campus (Advising Center, Peer Mentor Center, Financial Aid, Nursing Department, Community Resource Center, Library, Student Lounge, Public Safety, Peer Tutoring, Inclusion & Diversity Center) for distribution at on-campus holiday pop-up shops in December (dates to be announced). Volunteers needed to sort through donations (clothes, gifts/toys and food pantry items)—sign up online to help!

Win a Thanksgiving Turkey!

Enter our raffle for the chance to win a 12 lb. fresh turkey from Diemand Farm, courtesy of the Permaculture Club and the Corner Market Food Pantry. Current students only; must be available for pick-up Tuesday, Nov. 25 2-4 p.m. or Wednesday, Nov. 26 10 a.m-1 p.m. One entry per person, all entries must be submitted by November 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Plum Internships Available

Help publish GCC's literary journal, which includes writing and art by GCC students, alums and regional neighbors. Tuition and fees will be waived for the experience, and you will earn credits in English. Apply now for a spring internship—begin the application process by meeting with Internship Coordinator David Brown (N418), brownd@gcc.mass.edu.

Nominations Open for Annual MLK, Jr. Awards

Nominations are open for two annual awards for individuals or organizations in our region who have carried on the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in their school or community. The Bright Lights Award is for people 22 and younger, the Living the Dream Award is for people 23 and older. Nominations accepted until Friday, Nov. 21learn more and nominate someone!

Now Hiring PAID Student Leaders!

Share your knowledge, build community and develop valuable skills! Applications for spring 2026 Peer Mentors and Orientation Leaders are due November 23. Both positions start at $15.50/hr. Peer Mentors help new students successfully navigate college life (must have completed two consecutive semesters or 12 credits by the end of this semester). Orientation Leaders welcome new students, answer their questions and ease their minds about starting college (must be friendly and comfortable facilitating small groups, in-person or online). Take an Honors Course this Spring

The Honors Scholar Program is pleased to announce two stand-alone course offerings for spring 2026: PSY 101-A Principles of Psychology and HON 202-A Honors Seminar in Behavioral and Social Sciences: The Pursuit of Happiness.
