Film & Talkback: How It Feels to Be Free

Please note this event is open strictly to the GCC community only.

In celebration of Black History Month, join us for a film screening and talkback facilitated by GCC’s inaugural Vice President of Institutional Mission, Culture and Climate, Dr. Angela Campbell. How It Feels to Be Free takes an unprecedented look at the intersection of African American women artists, politics and entertainment and tells the story of how six trailblazing performers—Lena Horne, Abbey Lincoln, Diahann Carroll, Nina Simone, Cicely Tyson and Pam Grier— changed American culture through their films, fashion, music and politics. Join us to watch the film from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (or watch on your own); open discussion with free lunch will be from 12 -1 p.m. RSVP requested!
