Local Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators Panel

Local panelists will discuss their paths to becoming children’s book writers and illustrators, their creative process, where they draw inspiration and how to navigate self-publishing. Come learn with us, and be inspired!

Katie Burke is an illustrator and designer based in Boston. She grew up in Conway and graduated from GCC in 2016, and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2019. Katie is the illustrator of the children’s books JoJo and the Gazork and JoJo and the Eagle.

Christine Copeland is an author, illustrator and painter currently based in Northfield. She is a former staffer of the Science Department at GCC. Christine has a BFA from Cornell University and a MA in education from Antioch New England and is the author and illustrator of the book series Seasons in the Forest: Field Guides for Little Naturalists.

Peter Rosnick is a retired GCC math faculty member and dean based in Conway. Though many in the GCC community know Peter, not many know he graduated from Tufts in the early 70s with degrees in sociology and early child development, not math. Peter is the author of the children’s books JoJo and the Gazork and JoJo and the Eagle.
