Tourism and Travel in the Post-Colonial Caribbean and its Diaspora Tourism and Travel in the Post-Colonial Caribbean and its DiasporaJoin us for a presentation and discussion with Traci-Ann Wint, Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Smith College, Black feminist scholar and researcher of tourism and travel in the post-colonial Caribbean and its diaspora. Traci examines how race, gender, pleasure and belonging intersect within the Caribbean’s paradise narrative. Her work has been featured in Small Axe, NACLA and The Caribbean Writer, and her current book project, After Paradise, explores how Jamaicans navigate and resist these narratives. She will share how her experiences growing up in Jamaica and studying in the U.S. as an international student have shaped her approach to teaching and research.
