Black needle-like radiating clusters of hornblende are contained by a vaguely hoof shaped grey base rock (possibly schist). Almandine garnets are visible in some areas. Other areas seem to be rusted. The rust combined with the fact that most of this specimen is magnetic points towards the presence of magnetite. The Light grey streak could be a discoloration from the presence of other minerals or point towards a more specific identification as Hastingsite.
