Scaly aggregate of small lilac plates (appearing similar to muscovite) upon a white-clear substrate (perhaps quartz) with some patches of another white mineral. Does turn a flame reddish. A note on nomenclature: Lepidolite is no longer an IMA accepted mineral. It has changed to mean a series of two (known) minerals that are impossible to distinguish without chemical testing.
