Note: The specimen was too big for the caliper so a ruler estimate was used for measurement. An estimate is used for specific gravity as well. The specimen was labeled "Garnet" but it is speculated to be Almandine Garnet. The mineral crystal is Dark brown with a sandy-colored base. There is no cleavage. Has uneven fractures. The specimen is brittle.
