Administrative Assistant Intern Overview The Administrative Assistant Intern will support day-to-day administrative operations while gaining hands-on professional experience in a small business environment. This part-time role is designed to complement the student’s academic learning through practical application and structured mentorship. The intern will also have exposure to cross-functional business areas including finance, sales, project management, and operations, with opportunities to learn how these functions interact within a cooperative (co-op) business model. This internship offers meaningful work experience, skill development, and professional growth in a supportive learning environment aligned with the educational goals of the GCC internship program. Report directly to HR Manager This is an hourly-based, part-time position Cross training and work outside of core work responsibilities may be necessary to support operational needs of the cooperative. Intern Responsibilities Provide general administrative support to Human Resources Department including filing, data entry, document organization, and records management Assist with maintaining accurate and confidential employee and company records Help review, organize, and update forms, and administrative processes Assist with tracking tasks and basic reporting to support ongoing projects Learn and support aspects of the cooperative business model and internal operations Communicate professionally with internal team members and maintain organized workflows Perform other administrative and project-based duties aligned with learning objectives and business needs In addition to providing administrative support such as filing, data entry, and general office assistance, the intern will participate in a special project focused on employment law and HR record-keeping, supporting compliance, documentation practices, and organizational processes Preferred Qualifications Hours Per Week 5-20 Desired Outcomes Practices organizational skills, task prioritization and has proven methods of self-accountability.
