In July of 2021 the Internship Program will be transitioning to a new Internship Coordinator, a new way of posting (employers) and searching for (students) internships, and a new office location on the GCC campus. Please check back here in late July/early August for updated contact and program information.
Whether you are recently out of high school or already have significant work history and training, sharpening your career skills can be part of your educational experience at Greenfield Community College. We are committed to helping you get a great education AND to giving you the tools and resources you need to prepare for work in your field of study. An internship is an opportunity to combine your academic learning with work experience and then to reflect on and share that learning with faculty and fellow students.
This website will help you get started on an internship if you are a student, will inform you of GCC’s process for internships if you are a business or a host site, and will aid you in the logistics of mentoring an intern if you are a faculty member.
COVID-19/Coronavirus Internship Implications: GCC and area businesses continue to post internships. As Massachusetts re-opens, some internships will be on-site/face-to-face, but many will move to a remote structure. In some cases, a mix of on-site and remote work will make the most sense. In light of COVID-19 restrictions, GCC will allow remote/virtual internships for credit this year. If you are interested in exploring a Fall 2021 internship, please contact the Internship Coordinator or respond to an individual internship that is currently posted by clicking on the “Ask about this internship” button and filling out the brief web form. This will generate an email directly to the coordinator.
NEW for 2021: GCC partners with Handshake: https://gcc-mass.joinhandshake.com/
Create your student Handshake account and check regularly for additional internships.
NEW! Micro-internships (paid, not for credit): https://info.parkerdewey.com/gcc
We’ve partnered with Parker-Dewey to make their popular micro-internship model available to GCC students this fall as a way to help you through the COVID 19 crisis. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and for help applying. These micro-internship cannot be used for GCC credit at this time, but they’re still a great way to earn some extra income, gain experience in your field, and add recent, relevant experience to your resume.
