May 14, 2021

Greenfield Community College Workforce Development & Community Education is launching Leadership DEI, a certificate program developed in partnership with Coppedge Consulting LLC of Springfield, Massachusetts. This diversity, equity and inclusion program will help leaders at every level develop the cultural dexterity to lead and manage effectively for the 21st century workforce and enact genuine social change within their company culture.

On Wednesday, May 26, at 12pm, GCC will host a free lunchtime webinar to introduce and provide information about Leadership DEI to businesses and organizations interested in the program. The webinar panel will include GCC president Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernández, founder and principal of Coppedge Consulting Lakisha Coppedge, and the team of diversity, equity, and inclusion experts who will lead the Leadership DEI workshops and trainings.

Participants may register for the Leadership DEI webinar at gcc.mass.edu/events/dei-leadership-webinar. The panel will tailor the discussion to the needs of the participants as indicated in their registrations.

Leadership DEI is GCC’s first collaboration with Coppedge Consulting LLC. Lakisha Coppedge and her team guide organizations in examining institutional racism and oppression and evolving their structures, policies, and practices to expand community partnerships and promote organizational mission around building bridges between advocates, staff, community leaders, and educators. Their clients have included the YWCA of Western Mass, SEIU Education & Support Fund, Collaborative Resolutions Group, Square One, CISA, and Springfield City Library.

Leadership DEI will be a synchronous, online certificate program. It will consist of five modules available individually or as a package for maximum impact. Ideal for all industries or sectors, the program can be geared to any learners, from entry level to senior leadership, and can be customized for individual businesses. Through assessments before, during, and after the program, participants will be able to set goals and determine progress. Leadership DEI will also be available to individuals through open enrollment.

Participants in GCC’s Leadership DEI program will increase their knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward impactful growth, self and business model assessment, and action plans for aligning inclusive and equitable business practice and policy across cultures, intersectionalities, and generations.
