This position also includes data spreadsheet maintenance tasks, answering and directing telephone calls, and assisting students with questions. Additionally, this position will serve as a campus tour guide for prospective students and assist with outreach projects such as texting campaigns. Work-study students in Disability Services will work with the Disability Services Coordinator, the Learning Specialist, and the Administrative Assistant to support the work of the office. General Assistant General Assistant Food Pantry Supervisor: Cyndi Rebelo rebeloc@gcc.mass.edu (413) 775-1448 Inquire About this Job Overview Food Pantry Assistants will assist with putting away and storing pantry items as well as organizing, tidying, and cleaning the pantry. Ability to learn and follow basic food safety protocols. Position may involve lifting bags and boxes that can be 20lbs or greater and also reaching up, bending, and crouching down to organize items. The individual will provide pantry information to students, help pantry users complete signup, and log visits. Must be comfortable using a computer and learning new software systems. It is important that this individual is able to maintain confidentiality and skilled at making visitors feel comfortable. Observe and listen to visitors to suggest new events, ideas, or improvements to the pantry to the pantry supervisor. Understanding of the complexities of food insecurity a plus. This individual will be responsible for staffing the pantry during normal operating hours, so must be dependable and work consistent shift hours each week. This can be a busy position and students should not expect to be able to do homework or study during their shift.
