Peer Mentors provide individual support to students, primarily by email and text (through a secure messaging app), but also 1-on-1 as needed over Zoom or in-person—as well as help with program development and planning events and activities that support students' sense of community and belonging. Required Qualifications: A matriculated student (enrolled in a major or certificate program) or a dual enrollment student, who has completed two (2) consecutive semesters OR 12 credits at GCC and is in good academic and disciplinary standing at the time of application. Expectations: Must be prepared to dedicate an average of 3-5 hours/week to the program throughout the semester, including some group meetings and some independent work. Remote participation is available for most work hours, and many hours are at flexible times (but some on-campus work and pre-scheduled meetings are required).
