The Women's Resource Center is dedicated to assisting all registered and returning GCC students regardless of gender with access to the resources they need to thrive during their academic journey with us. Navigating resources can be tricky, but we’ll help you! We serve all students who are currently enrolled or registered for next semester and offer: Advocacy Work/school/life balance coaching Academic advising Financial assistance Information and referrals Workshops and events Resource research and networking Get Help Your first step is to make an appointment with our staff, or email studentresources@gcc.mass.edu. A staff person will review your application and contact you to set up an appointment (appointments can be conducted via phone, email, text or video conferencing). Request Support Types of Assistance Our services and assistance are free and customized to the student’s needs and requests. We will review with you any immediate and pressing needs that could potentially stop or otherwise negatively affect you from completing your academic goals. Financial awards will be determined on a “first come/first serve” basis and approval of additional requests from a student within the same semester are not guaranteed. In order to enable us to assist as many students as possible, we reserve the right to limit financial assistance to once per student per semester. Financial awards do not have to be repaid. Local Community Resources The following main multipurpose resources cover many issues you may be facing and are updated regularly: 413cares.org – Local connections to human service and state agencies and resources Community Action Pioneer Valley – Family and individual, childcare, emergency services Franklin County Regional Housing Authority – Emergency housing assistance Franklin County Food Access – Meal sites, food pantries Mass.gov Unemployment Insurance – Online application, benefit information MASS Fair Housing – Housing discrimination (especially if you are/have been sick) Community Legal Aid – Direct sssistance with filing unemployment! The Stone Soup Cafe – Pay what you can eat meals and meal pick up or delivery
