If you want to pursue a career in health care, Greenfield Community College's allied health associate degree is an excellent place to start. You’ll take courses in anatomy and physiology, biology and statistics, in addition to the humanities and social sciences. And you’ll choose from courses in the areas that interest you, which may include biology, chemistry, physics, math, emergency medicine or medical assisting. This curriculum will give you a strong academic foundation to support a wide range of occupations or additional education.

Associate in Science (AS) degrees are typically completed in two (2) years and designed for immediate workforce entry

  • Analyze, interpret and demonstrate a well-rounded and integrative understanding of concepts from various scientific fields to meet the requirements for entry-level healthcare positions or admission to professional programs in allied health fields (e.g. public health, nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, biomedical engineering, etc).
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and novel approaches to effectively analyze challenges, concepts, research, and clinical/research outcomes and apply them to professional practice
  • Effectively evaluate and communicate information in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Approach human health and patient care from a culturally inclusive perspective that respects varied backgrounds including racial, gender, and ethnic diversity of the patient and family regarding disease and their health.
