College students with books on patio

Dual enrollment is a great way to earn college credits before graduating from high school.

As a high school or home school student, you may take classes at Greenfield Community College as long as you meet the specific class requirements, which may mean passing a placement test, prior completion of specific college-level courses or performance on AP exams.

3. Placement Testing

Make an appointment to take placement tests. You can request an appointment online or by contacting the Testing Center at (413) 775-1821. Most students will take the English ACCUPLACER computer-based test; students interested in taking math or science courses will take both the English and the math ACCUPLACER. Email DualEnrollment@gcc.mass.edu if you need help determining which tests to schedule.

4. Group Advising & Registration

Upon acceptance we’ll reach out to you to sign up for an online group advising session where you’ll learn everything you need to know to prepare for your individual advising and registration appointment. We’ll introduce you to the online tools you’ll use at GCC and help you understand key differences between high school and college expectations—so you can start your college journey with confidence.

Group advising sessions are specifically for high school and home school students who have been already been admitted to GCC as a dual enrollment student. After your group advising session, you’ll schedule an individual advising and registration appointment with your advisor to sign up for classes.
