Complete this certificate program in just eight months with mostly online classes complemented by in-person, on-campus lab sessions. Develop skills in patient care, phlebotomy and electrocardiography (EKG) and practice clinical and administrative procedures in a medical setting.

GCC’s registered nursing associate degree program is among the most highly regarded in the state. The curriculum, which will prepare you to provide care for adults and children in varied settings, is a combination of liberal arts and clinical nursing courses that can be completed in four semesters. You’ll take fundamental anatomy, physiology and nursing courses, as well as courses focused on pediatric, maternity, medical-surgical and mental health nursing. When you complete the associate degree, you will be eligible to take the registered nurse (RN) licensing exam.

As a certified basic or advanced EMT, you can complete GCC’s paramedic certificate to take the next step in your career. Our rigorous program covers all aspects of advanced life support care, such as advanced patient assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment plans and implementation. The paramedic certificate program starts each fall. It meets on campus two evenings per week, as well as an average of two Saturdays a month, for 11 months. In addition, there are six to nine months of clinical and field internship experiences.

This certificate program prepares you to start your career in direct patient care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). In as little as 10 months, you’ll be ready to provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adults and children. Through a combination of courses in science, liberal arts and nursing with hands-on clinical training, you will learn the essentials of general patient care, medication administration, patient treatment, assistance with diagnostic procedures and organization of patient care.
