GCC honors 37 nursing graduates at pinning ceremony Posted on June 3, 2019 June 3, 2019 Greenfield Community College (GCC) honored 37 graduating nursing students at its 54th Pinning Ceremony Saturday, June 1. The GCC Associate Degree in Nursing Program was established in 1963 as the first community college Associate Degree Nursing Program in Massachusetts. Each year, GCC receives numerous applications for a limited number of spots in the program, making admission extremely competitive. As part of tradition, a nursing pin was presented to each graduate by faculty members as a symbolic welcome into the nursing profession and was followed by the LaSalle Pledge. The Class of 2019 graduates will join a very special network of alumni who are excelling as nurses or have continued on to other, more advanced, healthcare professions, using their GCC education as a foundation for many possibilities.
