New Features Show & Tell Posted on July 3, 2019 With the upgrade from Moodle 3.2 to Moodle 3.6, we will enjoy a more reliable and stable system as well as the ability to install and configure plugins to customize the platform for our faculty and students. At this session, I will review the time for the upgrade, describe how to get on the test server, and demonstrate the new features. This is not intended to be a hands-on session at least for the first 60 minutes or so. New Tools Show & Tell web (click to see an download a PDF of the slides Gary will use) New plugin and features will include: Dashboard- The new version allows users to customize which courses they see. Gear menu- This replaces the course administration menu Back up, Restore, and Import- We have added these capabilities to facilitate reusing content in courses. ATTO text editor (audio & video)- The new text editor included options for recording audio and video content. Collapsed topics- This puts content under "window shades" to ease course navigation. Students tracker- Use this to immediately see who has not logged on. Hypothes.is- Adds the ability to annotate web pages and PDF's as a class. H5P- Adds the ability to create interactive content in your course. Annotate PDF- Markup and grading tools one one screen! Offline quiz- Use the Moodle question bank to create a Word document to print. Library blocks- Access GCC library resources form within Moodle. Scheduler- Mange appointments with students and advisees. Dates- Change all of the dates in your course on one page. Zoom- Add video conferences to your Moodle classrooms.
