Using Moodle

GCC uses Moodle as its learning management system; it is used for online courses, to extend and enhance face-to-face courses, for professional learning, and to support other initiatives. Staff of the the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center manage Moodle. This includes close collaboration with the applications team and other members of the information technology department.  For example, we have collaborated with the applications team to document the periodic actions taken to maintain Moodle and revised the procedures for providing first tier Moodle support.

In addition, we maintain the "Moodle Users" classroom which contains our collection of tips and tutorials for students and faculty. It is available inside Moodle: Log on to GCC's installation of Moodle, and click "Moodle Users" in the "GCC links" drop down menu at the top of the page.

Log on the Moodle, and find the Moodle Users Classroom under the GCC Links menu

TLIC staff also support faculty who use Moodle through consultations, workshops, and office hours to help users set up classroom when they first teach, choose and use new tools, or redesign classrooms.  The complete list of opportunities are on the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center classroom which is also under the GCC Links menu in Moodle.
