Proud of GCC painting student Evan Scott @evanst_artnfilm for tackling this ambitious painting with an important subject that has hit close to home for him. Evan has only been painting with oils for one semester.

This week, students in Computer Arts Foundation responded to Fluxus scores from the 1960s with code! Using @p5xjs, we created interactive digital interpretations that smash together experimental performance art with coding languages and internet culture. Here are some of the playful and strange results!

The paintings in this exhibit are the work of painting students at Greenfield Community College. The students represented here are currently enrolled in Painting 2 (ART 242) and Painting 3 (ART 243).

Molly Morin’s exhibit, Made en Mass is now open in the South Gallery. It will be up until April 9. Gallery talk April 8 at noon. Molly combines technology-enabled systems to amplify power imbalances using cast offs from mass production. She re-assembles them to create works that are playful, critical, and beautiful.

Our beloved former Art Chair and Professor, Paul Lindale, passed away on Sunday, February 15th, 2026. He will be greatly missed but his 24 years of dedicated service in the GCC Art Department will forever be cherished. We look forward to celebrating him during this year’s ArtsNight, Thursday, April 16th in the South Gallery. We hope you will join us! @gccgreenfield #gccartdepartment

Students in 161 Computer Arts Foundation combined digital scans of everyday objects with blackout poetry, exploring the Photoshop as a drawing and collage tool. From amoebas and specters to glitching forks and flowers, these images are dense and textural!

Snaps from the painting studios at GCC. Professor Kelly Popoff has her students make small paintings that are under 30 minutes on a regular basis to build skill and muscle memory without overthinking.

Students in 161 Computer Arts Foundation have been experimenting with flatbed scanners! Together, they’ve been exploring how we make the dimensional world digital, and how we might glitch, skew, and interfere with that moment of translation. Here are just a few examples of the results 🌀

The Cesar Melgar exhibit is being held over for a few more days! Come visit the south gallery soon before we deinstall on Monday 12/15. His photographs are a sweet/sad poem about the Ironbound section of Newark NJ as it crumbles – hurtling toward gentrification.
