Communications and Community Engagement Intern Overview The Hampshire-Franklin Commission on the Status of Women and Girls (HFCSWG) is seeking a dynamic and motivated intern to support its communications and community engagement initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to gender equity advocacy in Franklin County through social media strategy, marketing, and public outreach. While residency in Franklin or Hampshire County is not required, applicants from these counties are strongly encouraged to apply, as the Commission’s work is dedicated to serving these communities. Intern Responsibilities Attend and take notes during monthly in-person and virtual commission meetings Design marketing materials including email graphics, web banners, social media content, and promotional assets using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva Develop and implement a social media strategy across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), Snapchat, and emerging channels Grow social media audiences and increase engagement Assist with planning and executing events, campaigns, and outreach efforts Provide administrative support and assist with special projects as needed Engage local stakeholders and community members to increase visibility of the Commission’s work Preferred Qualifications 2–3 years of experience creating and managing content for social media platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to attend all in-person meetings and events (schedule provided at the start of the internship) Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Demonstrated commitment to gender equity and social justice Even if you don’t meet every listed qualification, we welcome your application.
