Event Planning and Coordination Intern

Overview

The Event Planning and Coordination Intern will assist in planning and executing events that align with our business development goals, including networking events, tourism-related events, and strategic community engagements. This role is ideal for students interested in learning how event planning intersects with business growth, client relationship management, and destination marketing. The intern will work closely with the Events and Business Development team to ensure that each event supports broader organizational objectives, including partnership building and revenue generation.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating events that promote business development and initiatives.
  • Develop event strategies that highlight local business opportunities and attractions.
  • Support the creation and management of event budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Research and engage local vendors and tourism partners for collaborative opportunities.
  • Assist in identifying key stakeholders and potential partners to invite to events.
  • Handle on-site event support, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Create post-event reports to analyze success metrics, including attendee engagement and potential business leads generated.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an associate’s degree or certificate in hospitality management, business administration, tourism management, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Understanding of business development concepts and an interest in tourism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management tools.
