Marketing and Communications Intern Overview The Marketing and Tourism Communications Intern will support marketing efforts that position our organization as a key player in the local tourism industry. This role combines creative content creation with a focus on destination marketing and business promotion. Interns will gain hands-on experience in developing communication strategies that attract visitors, enhance local partnerships, and showcase regional highlights. Intern Responsibilities Assist in creating engaging content for digital and print media that highlights local businesses and business opportunities. Develop and execute social media campaigns to promote events and member businesses. Conduct research on tourism trends and emerging markets to support campaign strategy. Work with the Director to design promotional materials, newsletters, and social media content. Collaborate with local tourism and business groups to support destination branding initiatives. Monitor social media channels and website analytics, providing insights for optimization. Support in developing press releases and communication pieces for events. Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, tourism management, or graphic design program at a community college. Strong written communication skills and creativity. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools. Interest in destination marketing, tourism development, and business promotion. Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) are highly desirable. Hours Per Week 5-10 Desired Outcomes Support marketing efforts. Compensation $20/hour
