Below are some commonly asked and answered questions. Don't see your question here or want more information? Please submit a ticket online at the GCC Help Desk.

What is the IT Help Desk and what are the hours?

The GCC IT Help Desk is here to keep your technology running smoothly. We support college-owned equipment, help students connect personal devices to campus Wi-Fi, and provide services such as account setup, password resets, printing, and more. Our team is available weekdays 8am – 4pm on campus in room N307. We also assist via a virtual appointments, by phone at (413) 775-1350 or you can submit a ticket online at the  GCC Help Desk.

Can GCC IT work on my personal device?

Unfortunately GCC does not have the insurance coverage or staff required to work on personal devices. We may be able to point you to a resource or help you do a web search that could assist with issues you are having but we are not able to do the work ourselves. If you experience any problems with a device you checked out through the GCC Library Tech Lending Program, we can assist with those devices.

Why do I have to connect to the GCC Personal Wi-Fi network every day?

The GCC Personal Wi-Fi requires devices to reconnect every 8 hours  in order to stay current with best network security practices. This helps keep our network and your data secure.

How do I use the Moodle app on my phone?

Download the Moodle app from the App Store or Google Play. When asked to enter your site or campus, type in online.gcc.mass.edu and select the option to Connect to your site. Log in with your GCC username and password.

How long is my GCC account active after I graduate or stop attending?

Currently, accounts remain active for 3 years. After 3 years of no active enrollments, you will receive a 2-week warning that your accounts are going to be deactivated. Be sure to update any websites that may use your student email address for login or verification. You should transfer anything from your student Google Drive to a personal Google Drive before your account is deactivated.

How do I obtain a transcript if my GCC account is no longer active?

GCC uses Parchment to provide transcripts to students or a third party. An active GCC account is not required to obtain a transcript through Parchment.

Are there technology discounts for students?

Yes; there are a number of retailers that have partnered with GCC to provide discounts to students (and employees) who use their GCC email address to log in. View the current list of discounts online at Technology Discounts.

Need help? Something not working as it should? Technology support is generally available between 8am and 4pm on weekdays. During non-business hours and weekends you can submit a help ticket and we will do our best to respond to you within 24 hours on weekdays, 48 hours on weekends.
