Full digital access to nytimes.com, the NYT mobile app, Spanish/Mandarin editions and archives dating back to 1851. Includes access to NYT Education tools (does not include NYT Games or Cooking).

Activate Your Account

  1. Visit the GCC Library NYTimes Access Portal
  2. If you are off campus, you will need to log in using your library credentials. If you are on campus, you will go directly to the access portal
  3. Click the blue “Create Account” button and register using your GCC email address
  4. Select your role; you will automatically be given four years of access (note that students will be asked to select their anticipated graduation year)
  5. After four years of access, you can renew your account (assuming we still subscribe)

Once registered, you can use the individual login to access nytimes.com in any web browser or to use the New York Times app.

What if you already subscribe to nytimes.com?
If you are subscribed using your GCC email address, you will first need to cancel your existing subscription.

What about your privacy?
While the library is facilitating access, we will not be able to see what you read, comment on, which newsletters you subscribe to, or any other activity. We simply pay the cost for a group subscription. Your access is, however, subject to the New York Times Privacy Policy.
