Working from memories of land and water, Tekla McInerney’s monotypes create environments that are universally resonant. Small in scale and built in layers, her work encourages a close reading of their unnamed locations to become private, intimate recollections of time and place.

Tekla McInerney is an artist and designer living in Florence, Massachusetts. She makes prints and books and exhibits them throughout the U.S. She is a member of Zea Mays Printmaking, a studio dedicated to safe and sustainable printmaking. Her books and prints are in private collections and in the collections of the New York Public Library, Montefiore Medical Center, Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, Yale University, University of Washington, University of Utah, University of Michigan, Wheaton College, and Hampshire College.
