Virtual Tutoring

Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring offers free virtual tutoring appointments via Google Meet, at mutually agreed upon times throughout the day and early evening, including Saturdays.  For details, please visit our webpages:  math assistance, writing assistance, FAQ, and online resources.  The panel to the right includes a “Request an Appointment” link, a tip sheet on Google Meet, and contact information for Peer Tutoring staff.   Please note that technical assistance is available via the GCC Help Desk (StudentHelp@stuemail.gcc.mass.edu), as well as the library’s chat function (www.gcc.mass.edu/library), which is available during the library’s operating hours.

Smarthinking

If a GCC student is in need of tutoring and Peer Tutoring is unavailable, they can access Smarthinking, a private company offering online tutoring and academic support.  Smarthinking is available to GCC students for a limited number of hours each semester.  The Student Support section of each GCC course’s Moodle page, as well as the GCC Moodle How-to page, includes a link to Smarthinking.  If a student experiences difficulty logging in, they can submit a help desk ticket (see above).  For additional information on Smarthinking, visit their website.
