Welcome to the Greenfield Community College Faculty Handbook. This handbook serves as an official reference for the policies, procedures, and practices that govern academic life at GCC and supports the effective and equitable fulfillment of faculty roles and responsibilities.

Faculty are essential to the College’s mission and to the achievement of our educational goals. Through instruction, academic advising, curriculum development, assessment, scholarship, and service, faculty contribute directly to student learning, institutional effectiveness, and the vitality of our academic community. GCC values academic freedom, shared governance, and the professional expertise of its faculty, all of which are reflected in this handbook and in applicable collective bargaining agreements.

As a comprehensive community college, GCC is committed to providing high-quality, accessible education that meets the needs of a diverse student population. Advancing student success, maintaining academic standards, and fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments are shared responsibilities that guide our work.

This handbook is intended to clarify expectations, promote consistency, and support faculty in carrying out their contractual and professional obligations. Faculty are encouraged to review this document in conjunction with the collective bargaining agreement and other official College policies. Questions regarding interpretation or application should be directed to Academic Affairs.
