Museum Passes

Our museum passes provide free admission to a variety of regional museums, historic sites, and attractions. Most passes are physical items borrowed from the library, and some are also available as digital passes.

How Museum Passes Work

Passes are available to GCC students, staff, and faculty on a first-come, first-served basis.

Physical Passes

  • Advanced reservations are not available
  • Must be picked up and returned at the library front desk
  • 7-day loan
  • Lost passes may result in a replacement fee

Digital Passes

  • Digital museum passes are available only to GCC students, staff, and faculty
  • All pass requests must be submitted through the online form. Approved passes are sent via email.
    Please note: Although you receive the pass digitally, it must be printed and presented upon arrival at the museum
  • Each pass is valid only for the single date requested
  • Requests must be submitted at least 24 hours and no more than 72 hours in advance of the requested date
  • Requests are processed Monday–Friday during regular business hours
  • Digital passes are subject to availability and not guaranteed

  • Pass benefit: Free parking for one vehicle at over 50 day-use state park facilities that charge a parking fee
  • Pass not valid for buses, 15-passenger vans, camping, or at Quabbin Reservoir, Squantum Point, North Point, Newburyport, or Draw Seven Commuter Lots

One of the largest centers for contemporary art in the country, MASS MoCA features expansive galleries, immersive installations, and dynamic visual and performing arts programming.

Amherst College, Beneski Museum of Natural History

The Beneski Museum preserves and interprets the physical evidence of the geological history of the Earth, the evolutionary history of its inhabitants, and the processes that have shaped both through time. Free and open to the public.

Amherst College, Mead Art Museum

The Mead holds the art collection of Amherst College, celebrated for its American and European paintings, Mexican ceramics, Tibetan scroll paintings, English paneled room, ancient Assyrian carvings, Russian avant-garde art, West African sculpture and Japanese prints. Eight galleries feature regularly changing exhibitions and installations spanning a wide range of historical periods and artistic media. Free and open to the public.

Mount Holyoke College Art Museum

MHCAM is a dynamic learning resource serving as a laboratory for innovative interdisciplinary teaching. The museum stewards a collection of approximately 24,000 works of global art and objects of material culture. Free and open to the public. Note: Closed for renovations until Fall 2026.

Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Showcasing ancient artistry and modern masterpieces, local legends and global visionaries, the MFA's renowned collection of nearly 500,000 works tells the story of the human experienc. Community college students receive free admission through the Pozen Community College Access Program. A valid GCC student ID card is required.

Smith College Museum of Art

Recognized as a leading academic museum, the SCMA's collection now comprises more than 29,000 objects, representing the diversity of art and material culture across periods and geographies. Free and open to the public.
