Young-In Kim is a librarian at GCC. She has over twenty-five years of experience in academic libraries. Her career began as a student assistant at California State University Long Beach (where her supervisors ironically advised her not to become a librarian...) and includes stops at Purdue University Libraries, Muhlenberg College, MCLA, and the College of Saint Rose, before she finally found her home at GCC. Throughout her journey, she has developed a deep commitment to student success and user-centered service, grounded in the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

Young-In is a curious dabbler whose responsibilities span a wide range of library work. She maintains the library’s website, co-administers Hope’s Seed Library, and organizes the annual GCC Student Symposium. She also leads the library’s social media and marketing efforts. Those whimsical, cat-themed library signs? All her handiwork. You can also find her at the front desk or in a classroom—where her greatest joy is working alongside the amazing students of GCC.

Young-In has a BA in art history from California State University Long Beach, a BA in English from Kutztown University, and an MLIS from Syracuse University.
