OverviewSummer interns at the Greenfield Community Farm will be participating primarily in field work, with a possibility of some greenhouse experience. The emphasis of the summer internship will be on planting, harvesting, and maintaining a wide variety of vegetables in the field and high tunnel. You can expect to learn about cultural requirements and cultivation practices for various plant families and participate in harvest, washing, and preparing produce for market and CSA. Tasks will vary depending upon days/times of participation. Learn about some alternative practices to enhance biodiversity, preserve soil, and reduce our fossil fuel consumption.

Interns are expected to show up on time, ready to work for each scheduled shift. A willingness to perform repetitive tasks and maintain a positive attitude is crucial. It is your responsibility to come adequately prepared with appropriate clothing and gear for the weather (Rain gear, boots, sun hat, water, sunblock, etc). Gloves and any required tools will be provided by the farm.
Required intern qualifications
Desire to learn about and participate in the production of vegetables. Ability and willingness to perform repetitive tasks in all (safe) weather conditions.
Desired outcomes of internship
Interns will have a positive learning experience, and have a greater understanding of farm practices and ecology.
