OverviewDo you like to write? Are you interested in the rapidly evolving fields of technology, marketing, and communications? Help us promote, test, and build an audience our new social media app — Zappen — a tool that lets users connect to organizations, artists, musicians, and business using their camera phones. We will launch at the Green River Festival July 8-10. Festival admission is included. We have enjoyed working with GCC students in the past, and would love to offer this opportunity to anyone looking to supplement a summer job with direct experience in tech and marketing. Internship tasks will include authoring content for the Zappen website, building an audience for Zappen on social media, sending email campaigns, staffing a promotional booth at events, adding organizations and businesses to the Zappen social media database, and demonstrating the app to new users. We welcome creative, fresh, and original ideas for promoting the app.
Required intern qualifications
Basic writing, social media, and graphics skills are required. Computer coding skills are a plus but not required.
Desired outcomes of internship
At the completion of this internship, intern will have strong marketing skills using such platforms as WordPress, MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Intern will have a deep understanding of the app development product life cycle, and will be able to point to events and campaigns which he or she organized and helped facilitate. This internship represents ideal preparation for a job at a marketing or advertising agency, or in a technology-related startup.
Compensation: negotiable dependent on student's experience
