OverviewThe Town of Greenfield is implementing a year long program called the Greenfield Solar Challenge. The program hopes to increase the installation of small-scale solar electricity systems through a grassroots educational campaign, driven mainly by local volunteers, and a tiered pricing structure that increases the savings for everyone as more home and business owners in the community sign up.

The Town of Greenfield is looking for a Solar Coach intern to help with this program. The internship will provide a practical work experience program enabling students or those interested in the field of sustainable planning and renewable energy fields to gain practical work experience program. Responsibilities include assisting with organizing and hosting community meetings; facilitating communications between stakeholders and answering questions regarding basic questions about solar photovoltaic and financial incentives among other tasks.
Some late afternoon/early evening and weekend hours with an anticipated start date of mid March and concluding in mid- July; with a pay rate of $15/hour. Potential for current students to earn college credit.
Required intern qualifications
Strong oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, success with door-to-door canvassing and/or knowledge of residential energy efficiency strongly preferred. Must be over 18, possess a high school diploma or GED.

The desired outcome of the internship is to educate the public about solar electricity and increase the installation of solar electricity
