Each nursing student is assigned a nursing faculty member as an advisor and an academic success coach. The faculty advisor is a nursing instructor who can help the student choose classes, understand degree requirements, and talk through career or transfer plans. They’re a great resource when you have questions about your nursing courses or want help staying on track.

The academic success coach offers support in a different way. They can help you learn how to manage your time, navigate campus resources, understand college policies, and provide tangible tactics for student success.

It is the student’s responsibility to seek help when they do not understand a concept or need to make up course work. Students may make appointments with their advisor and/or coach for registration purposes and/or any time during the academic year. Faculty advisors are available during open office hours. The Nursing Department makes every effort to meet individual learning needs.

Every effort will be made to meet individual learning needs. Personal counseling is also available to students through the GCC Wellness Center. Refer to gcc.mass.edu/advising for more information.
