Dress Code ID: 690 You may purchase uniforms anywhere you would like but they must meet the program and policy guidelines. All students will be expected to appear in the designated uniform appropriate to the setting. In patient/client and public areas, students will maintain a professional appearance. This includes periods outside of class and clinical times. The studentsā appearance must be neat and clean at all times. Students not properly attired will be asked to leave the clinical area and will be accountable for this clinical absence. The school uniform code for clinical and lab settings is: Selected hunter green scrub top Selected hunter green uniform pants or skirt Uniforms should be properly fitted- not too loose or too tight All-white or all-black closed-toe, closed back non-slip shoes Ofļ¬cial school nursing photo ID badge White scrub coat (optional) White long or short sleeve tee shirt under scrub top, if chosen Facility-issue photo ID as required Long hair must be pulled back so that does not fall over you face or come into contact with patients or equipment Nails must be kept short You are required to carry a stethoscope, bandage scissors, pen and watch with a second hand Clinical sites supply requirements will be communicated in advance. The entire GCC uniform must be worn for every lab session. While in uniform the following are considered unacceptable: Strong odors that could irritate chemical sensitivity reactions, according to the GCC chemical sensitivity policy Undergarments must be completely unnoticeable through outer clothing Uniforms must cover torso, midriff and low back at all times Hoodies are not allowed in patient areas Perforated shoes (like Crocs), canvas, open toe/open back shoes are prohibited due to safety and infection control concerns Dangling earrings, necklaces or bracelets (safety concern) Nail polish or artiļ¬cial nails (infection control concern) Students may be required to remove piercings, cover tattoos, or adhere to additional standards per clinical facility policies. When in community settings or when visiting a cooperating agency on school-related matters, students must wear school and facility issued name tags and professional dress.
